Veterinary Clinics That Qualify:
To qualify to apply for funding, at least one veterinarian in the veterinary practice must be a member of the Ontario Veterinary Medical Association.

Types of Medical Care that Qualify:
The Farley Foundation will reimburse clinics for non-elective (necessary) medical procedures for sick or injured pets that belong to qualifying owners.

The Farley Foundation believes that routine veterinary care is an important part of responsible pet ownership. Consequently, physical examinations, vaccinations and other routine veterinary treatment will not be funded.

Pet Owners that Qualify:
Farley Foundation funding is available to assist clinics to care for pets of individuals who CANNOT OTHERWISE PAY FOR NEEDED MEDICAL CARE, and who fall into one of the following categories:

1) Seniors who receive the Federal Guaranteed Income Supplement (GIS)
2) People with disabilities who receive the Ontario Disability Support Payment (ODSP) or the Canada Pension Plan (CPP) Disability Benefit; or

3) Women participating in OVMA's SafePet program

Funding is limited to $1,000 per year for each clinic, and for each pet and household for which funding is provided.

The Farley Foundation does not restrict the type of animal by species. If the primary purpose of the animal is companionship, the Farley Foundation will help. In some cases, the pets may be pot-bellied pigs or horses.
