Pet Owners Receiving GIS
1) While you are at the veterinary hospital, call the Human Resources Development Canada hotline [8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Monday - Friday]

2) Once connected, press "O" to speak to an operator.
3) Ask the operator to verbally verify to the veterinarian that you are receiving the GIS payment. You will need to provide your name and Social Insurance Number.

If, for any reason, your enrolment in the GIS program cannot be verified to a veterinarian over the phone, ask the operator for a "Letter of Entitlement" for the GIS program. Bring this letter into the veterinary hospital as proof of enrolment in the program.
